Collection directly from the data subject
We collect information about your interests and information needs via our microsites and their related email marketing communications. We use this information to fulfil the transactions that you request, customize web pages and emails to match your interests, pre-complete on-line forms for your convenience, improve our level of service and the content of our microsite; provide you with relevant information or seek your views on our products and services, and for our own internal purposes.
We only collect personal data about you, which you voluntarily submit.
Whenever we ask for information, we will explain clearly what information is required and what information is optional. You can choose whether or not to provide information about yourself, but then you might not be able to take advantage of some features of our microsites.
If you do provide us with personal data you agree that we may contact you through a variety of means such as postal mail, phone, or e-mail to provide you with information we believe may be of interest to you unless you opt out of this service.
If you tell us that you do not want us to use your personal information to make further contact with you beyond fulfilling your requests, we will respect your wishes.

Collection from sources other than the data subject
The information that you voluntarily provide about yourself may be combined with other information that we already hold about your organisation.
The information that we hold about our customers is not limited to details of business transactions between your organisation and ours: we also use external data providers such as trade associations, credit bureaus, and national statistical institutes who provide us with many other types of information. We actively use this combined information in your interest: to provide you with information about products and services that we believe are relevant to your company’s business and your professional interests.

In certain circumstances you may be providing us with information classed as “sensitive personal data”, for example, information relating to your physical or mental health or condition.

We encourage parents to talk to their children about their use of the internet and the information they disclose to web sites.

Data Protection principles
We may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf - such as providing communication services on subjects that may be of interest to you, or for services such as information processing, mailing, e-mailing, telephone contact, market surveys and/or internet-based information. They may need access to your personal information in order to perform these functions. Rest assured, however, that we will require such third parties to agree to treat your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and use it for the same purposes.

In rare situations, we may be required by court order or other legal or regulatory process, or as otherwise required by law to divulge personal data to law enforcement authorities, the courts, or regulatory authorities. The companies of Linde's Healthcare business will co-operate in responding to such requests, in accordance with the regulatory or legal process, and will take appropriate measures to ensure that the requester understands the sensitive nature of any health-related personal data they receive.
